The original and most magical of all Walt Disney World Resort’s four theme parks; you can expect to meet all your favourite Disney Characters as you embark on an exciting adventure through Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park. Explore each of the park’s six enchanted lands, experiencing over 40 incredible attractions as you go.

Home to the iconic Cinderella’s Castle, it’s here that you can feel part of the magic as you witness colourful parades and breathtaking fireworks displays. No matter what your age, you can’t help but be swept away in the fairytale of Magic Kingdom. It’s the only place where once upon a time is right now and fantasy becomes reality right in front of your eyes.

Key attractions

Fun for the little ones

  • Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique: Your little prince or princess will love getting a magical makeover in this enchanted beauty salon. You’ll find it right inside Cinderella’s Castle.
  • Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin: This thrilling space battle will take you to infinity and beyond as you work to defeat Zurg in this fun-filled shooting gallery game.
  • Dumbo the Flying Elephant: Take to the sky on Dumbo the Flying Elephant and enjoy the jubilant carnival music as you go. You can decide just how high or low you fly.

Big thrills

  • Big Thunder Mountain Railroad: Hurtle through the dark on this runaway train, deep into a haunted gold-mine. This popular ride is currently closed for refurbishment until November 2016.
  • Space Mountain: Blast off on this high speed, rollercoaster-style rocket. You’ll ascend a 180 foot mountain and then launch into the darkness of the universe at the top.
  • Splash Mountain: Jump in a hollowed out log and set off on a musical journey along a colourful bayou. Be prepared to get wet though, as you endure a five storey thrilling splashdown.

Family Fun

  • Pirates of the Caribbean: Step back in time and set sail on a spellbinding voyage on the high-seas. Sing along with the pirates and keep your eye out for Captain Jack Sparrow himself.
  • Haunted Mansion: Take a ride on a Doom Buggy through an eerie haunted estate, amongst ghosts, ghouls and supernatural surprises. A chilling ride for the whole family.
  • Mickey’s PhilharMagic: Sit back and enjoy this incredible 3D extravaganza featuring a number of your favourite Disney Characters. It’s a magical movie musical that all ages will love.

Keep your feet firmly on the ground

  • The Hall of Presidents: Trace the steps of the United States’ history as told by all 43 of the past, right up to the present day. This is a fascinating and patriotic Audio-Animatronics show.
  • Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor: Enjoy a hilarious and interactive comedy show brought to you by fantastic comics and the stars of Monsters, Inc. and Monsters University. You’ll be laughing out loud in no time.
  • Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom: Take on the challenge to become Merlin’s apprentice sorcerer and cast magical spells throughout Magic Kingdom in order to defeat the dastardly Disney Villains

Entertainment

Most of the parades at Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park take place in the Main Street area and are centred around the iconic Cinderella’s Castle. But there’s still so much going on, that you might need a helping hand to decide which ones definitely can’t be missed and which ones you want to reserve your place for in advance of your holiday. So read on to find out about some of the must-see events in the Park. And don’t forget to pick up a park guide when you get there, which will give you the latest advice on timings, parade routes and viewing areas.

  • Magic Kingdom Welcome Show: Before the park opens, join Mickey and friends as they arrive on the Disney Express.
  • Disney’s Festival of Fantasy Parade: You can catch this parade winding through the streets of the Magic Kingdom Park every afternoon. The state-of-the-art floats carry some of most popular Disney Characters, followed by stilt performers, dancers and musicians.
  • Happily Ever After: New for 2017, this stunning show transforms Cinderella Castle with unforgettable Disney film scenes, from past to present day. You are taken on a journey brought to life by fireworks, lasers and of course, Disney’s own iconic music.
  • Once Upon A Time Projection Show: New to Magic Kingdom Park, there’s no better way to end a great day in the park by watching this spectacular show full of special effects. Join Mrs Potts for the perfect bedtime story takes you through the Disney stories of Once Upon A Time, set to the music of your favourite Disney animations.
  • Electrical Water Pageant: This takes place on the lagoon in front of the park and follows the same style as the Main Street Electrical Parade, but on water. Some of the best viewing spots for this are at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa (including Narcoossee’s), Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground and Disney’s Contemporary Resort.

Dining

With so many incredible places to choose to eat whilst at Magic Kingdom Park, you might need some help deciding where to start. Whether you’re looking for a quick bite to eat or you’re wanting to sit down and enjoy a meal together whilst your favourite Disney characters pose for photographs with you, we can help by sharing some of the best restaurants that we think are worth a visit. Don’t forget, if there’s somewhere you really like the look of, be sure to make a reservation in plenty of time before your holiday.

Snack stops

  • Aloha Isle: Famed for the Pineapple Dole Whip, it’s a great place to stop by to pick one up and a refreshing drink too.
  • Casey’s Corner: This is the place to go to pick up a hot dog or some nachos while you wait for a parade to start.
  • Prince Eric’s Village Market: As the name suggests, fresh fruit and light refreshments are available as you take a break in Fantasyland. Perfect for those wanting a nice healthy option.
  • Sleepy Hollow: Overlooking the Castle, this place serves some of the best snacks in the Kingdom, like homemade ice cream sandwiches, funnel cakes and Nutella sandwiches.
  • Cool Ship: Infamous turkey legs are available here, need I say more?

Food on the go

  • Gaston’s Tavern: An absolute must for anyone visiting Magic Kingdom. This is the perfect quick service restaurant to grab snacks like warm cinnamon rolls washed down with LeFou’s Brew; a yummy apple-flavoured non-alcoholic drink.
  • The Crystal Palace: Help yourself at this buffet-style restaurant, modelled on our very own Crystal Palace. This is one of the few places in the park that you can dine with Disney Characters. Reserve a table for either breakfast, lunch or dinner and you’ll have the opportunity to meet Winnie the Pooh and friends for high fives and hugs.
  • Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant: From burgers to salads and everything else in between, this is a great choice for the whole family.
  • Liberty Tree Tavern: This is a buffet-style family restaurant with a traditional Thanksgiving menu. No alcohol is served here, but you’ll find that some dining plans are accepted.

Waiter service restaurants

  • Be Our Guest Restaurant: Found in the Beast’s enchanted castle, this restaurant is available on the quick service dining plan for breakfast and lunch. Alternatively, you can make a reservation for a table service Character Dining experience where you will meet Belle and the Beast. The menu is mainly French cuisine and interactive queuing passes the time more quickly.
  • Cinderella’s Royal Table: In the heart of the iconic castle, you can dine with Ariel, Aurora, Cinderella, Snow White and Jasmine for breakfast, lunch or dinner. You’ll have to reserve your table here as soon as you can though, as this is one of the most sought after Character Dining experiences at Walt Disney World Resort.
  • The Plaza Restaurant: A hidden gem at the end of Main Street. Take time to sit down and relax after a long day in the park with a menu that ranges from freshly made deli sandwiches and burgers, to salads and light bites. Be sure to order the Glowing Character Punch, which comes with a clip-on Disney Character light.
  • Tony’s Town Square: A restaurant filled with romance, taking its inspiration from Lady and the Tramp. The menu is hearty and Italian, and if you request a table on the patio, you’ll get a great view of the parades.

Characters Experiences

Perhaps the most iconic of all Walt Disney World Resort’s theme parks, you can expect to find Disney Characters galore as you make your way around the Magic Kingdom Park. There’s nothing more exciting for little kids and big kids alike, than being able to meet all your favourite Disney stars in person. There are certainly plenty of characters residing in Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park, so here’s who you can expect to see while you’re there.

  • Aladdin and Jasmine: Agrabah

Shopping

Shopping is an entire activity within itself at Walt Disney World Resort and the shops on offer at Magic Kingdom Park are no exception to the rule. You’ll find around 40 incredible and unique stores here for you to browse and pick up gifts for both yourself and your friends and family back home. You’ll find the largest collection of shops along Main Street, many of which are interconnected, allowing you to easily shop from one end to the other. There are all the usual souvenir and merchandise shops, but also plenty that are more out of the ordinary too, so you’ll definitely want to allow time to explore them all.

  • Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique: No little one’s trip to the Magic Kingdom would be complete without a visit here, inside Cinderella’s Castle. Choose a makeover package for your princess or knight and let the trainee Fairy Godmothers do the rest.
  • Fantasy Faire: Located in Fantasyland, this is a great place to pick up all sorts of Mickey-inspired merchandise including Mickey Ears, Disney costumes and the collectable pins that you can trade around the park.
  • Main Street Confectionary: Those with a sweet tooth should pay a visit to this old-fashioned sweet shop.
  • Chapeau Hat Shoppe: A great place for some really unique souvenirs; you can create your very own Mickey Ears or even pick up a Goofy hat – if it can be worn on your head, you’ll find it here.
  • Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe: This incredible store sells Disney decorations and celebrates Christmas every day of the year. This just proves that you really can shop for anything at Magic Kingdom Park.
