Miami holidays have something for everyone, whether you’re travelling as a couple, a family or just a group of friends looking to have the time of your lives. You’re sure to make memories that will last a lifetime on an unforgettable holiday to Miami. Take a look below at five things that I think make Miami a great place to visit.
Home to some of the best beaches in the whole of North America, it’s easy to see why Will Smith was such a big fan of Miami. And let me tell you – we most certainly are to.
1) Year-round sunshine and outstanding beaches
One of the best things about Miami Holidays is that no matter what time of year you choose to visit, you’re guaranteed to enjoy warm and sunny weather. Perfect for spending long days on any one of the city’s infamous beaches. Head to the stunning surf capital, South Beach and keep an eye out for A-listers parading the golden sands. Alternatively, get closer to nature and enjoy scenic bike rides around the beautiful Key Biscayne, stopping off at its brilliant, white sandy beaches along the way.
2) Great activities for all ages
Miami has an endless list of activities and attractions that will keep both children and big kids entertained too. A boat tour of the Florida Everglades is an absolute must in order to try and spot some gators. The Zoological Wildlife should definitely be on your Miami holidays to do list too, as it is ranked no. 1 out of 277 things to do on Miami holidays on Tripadvisor and offers up close and personal encounters with a huge variety of animals. Head to the famous Venetian Pool for an alternative to the busy beaches.
3) Impressive arts and culture
You may not realise it, but Miami has a huge art deco and cultural scene. There are plenty of places that you can visit to experience this side of the city – Ocean Drive in South Beach being a prime example. Then of course there’s Little Havana, where the streets are lined with locals playing dominoes – it’s like stepping back in time. The Vizcaya Museum and Gardens is a lavish villa built in tribute to the Italian Renaissance and is well worth a couple of hours of your time.
4) Delicious dining experiences
Now, when you think of dining in America, you think of fast food, big portions and calorie contents like no other. You’d be forgiven for thinking that Miami is very much the same, but let me assure you that this isn’t the case. There are so many fantastic dining experiences to be had in the city. Indulge in fresh, delicious and mouth-watering foods at restaurants such as The Forge, Barton G and Segarfredo or book yourself onto an amazing Miami Culinary Tour and sample even more delights, such as its famous stone crabs.
5) Energetic night life
If there’s one thing Miami holidays are famous for, it’s the vibrant and lively nightlife. If you want to ‘party in the city where the heat is on’, there are a number of great areas to head to. South Beach is home to all the glamour and swanky nightclubs; Midtown & Wynwood has an arty vibe with lots of undercover bars; Downtown Miami and Tobacco Road is for those who have a taste for history as well as beer; and Coconut Grove is lined with college bars, perfect for bar crawls with friends.
